Michele L. Whelley — who once led the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore — is the new CEO of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore. “We’re not going to reinvent the wheel, just get the wheel going more smoothly,” Whelley said.
Whelley will begin work on Tuesday alongside the regional business group’s new chief operating officer, Sharon Markley Schreiber, the regional development group said on Thursday.
Whelley replaces Bill Jones who has served as interim CEO since June. The group’s former leader Shannon Landwehr announced she was leaving in September 2017.
